The Education Roadshow has been on the road these last couple of months! If you haven’t already heard of Ruth, she is our Education Program Facilitator.

Her involvement within this role includes educating men and women and raising awareness of prostate cancer/health in rural Australian communities – hence the name ‘Education Roadshow’.

Some background information on Ruth, she comes from a rural upbringing and has had personal experience with family members being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

By joining It’s a Bloke Thing with this background means Ruth is passionate about educating and raising awareness of Prostate Health to the wider community.

She also has extensive experience working as an Allied Health Practitioner both in private practice and managing the delivery of Corporate Health programs.

Ruth has been busy the last couple of months visiting shows and delivering presentations throughout regional Queensland, including Charleville, Longreach, Clermont, Emerald, Bowen and Burdekin.

Attending these shows and delivering presentations ensures that rural communities, corporate organisations and public groups throughout the regional areas are educated on Prostate Cancer.

Some interesting stats for the last month:
• 116 Questionnaires completed
• Over 200 ‘Meaningful’ conversations
• 2 meetings with LNP State Parliament members who are very supportive of IABT
• Met 5 local shire Mayors
• 5906 Kilometres travelled
• Significant local contacts made
• 3 Radio interviews
• Too many hours on the road to count

We are sure that the next couple of months will be even busier – with the Education Roadshow ute clocking up even more kilometres – but all for a good cause!
