ORGANISERS of a prostate cancer fundraising luncheon are ecstatic after the Toowoomba community contributed more than $300,000 to the cause.

It's a Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Committee chairman Mark Crampton said 360 people filled the Picnic Point Function Centre today to listen to some inspirational guest speakers.

He said they included Toowoomba businessman John Wagner, who gave a frank and insightful account of his experience with prostate cancer.

Other speakers included Home and Away actor Ray Meagher and Cancer Council Australia president Professor Ian Frazer.

"We are expecting to raise more than $300, 000," Mr Crampton said.
