NEW RECORD FOR TOOWOOMBA LUNCHEON!

The Toowoomba born, now nation-wide Wagners It’s a Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon returned to the Wellcamp Airport on September 6th and yet again, was another record-breaking event. Raising an astounding $2,049,600 for Prostate Cancer!

From its humble beginnings, to one of Australia’s biggest charity lunches – guests were surprised with another International Superstar flying over 15,000kms to entertain over 560 people.

Mr Ronan Keating made his entrance at the luncheon, arriving in one of the It’s A Bloke Thing branded IOR tankers. Cancer awareness is an issue close to Mr Keating’s heart, with his mother passing away from Breast Cancer.

"My mum died from one of the most curable forms of cancer,

“That breaks my heart. She was too scared to go to the doctor, to take her bra off and sit in a doctor’s surgery and get checked.

“If my mum had been more aware of the disease and being, you know, understanding she probably would still be alive today. And that’s, why for me, a charity like (It’s A Bloke Thing) is so important.

“It’s about realising if you want to live you’ve got to go to the doctor, you’ve got to get checked. It will make all the difference”.

Other celebrity guests included Australian Athlete - Ian Thorpe and Celebrity Chef - Alastair McLeod.
